We like the sound of Funky Music. It sho ’nuff turns us on. That’s why today we are having a 2-for-1 Funky Music Special. Two, count ’em, two quite different versions of a Norman Whitfield song. First up, the Mighty Temptations:

The Temps original version from their Titanic 1971 All Directions album is deeply funky hand-clappin’, foot stompin’ barn burner. It will shake your house down.

Patti LaBelle – Funky Music
Patti’s version from her 1977 debut album is a slightly Disco-fied version of the song that nonetheless does not skimp on the Funk and has as a bonus an irresistible guitar line. It will get you dancing and humming.
