“The greatest thing under the sun is havin’ fun,” sings Memphis Slim in this bleak, bleary, beautiful blues classic.  It’s not a party song.  Although the lyrics extol the virtues of partying, the fun part seems more of a bittersweet memory that a current condition.  Still there are some joys in the recollection of good times and this song  is perfect for late night reveries of your own.  Enjoy with a side of bourbon.
