Fugi – Revelations

These are the Days of Revelation!  So says Fugi, and so say we, ain’t it always?  Fugi is mainly the work of one Ellington Jordan a producer (for Chess Records) and songwriter (he was a co-writer of I’d Rather Go Blind).  His lone album as Fugi, Mary Don’t Take Me on No Bad Trip (1968) features the also obscure but, wildly funky Chess band, Black Merda as back-up and is a Psychedelic-Soul Gem.  It’s a bit rough around the edges but, that definitely adds to it’s charm.  So dig it and let Fugi help you “get your mind together”!
